Bend sofa
Patricia Urquiola has imagined a series of seats that will cause no small amount of surprise. Bend-Sofa, as she wanted to call her sofa, has an almost primary and monolithic shape. It seems to have been shaped by hand, as if, starting from a ductile material, it had been created with a gesture not unlike that of a sculptor. In reality, it was born from the study of 3D models and digital research and can effectively express the idea of movement obtained from the alternation of full and empty spaces, with contrasting stitching that gives rise to a further design on its surface. The backrest has an irregular shape without compromising comfort; the wavy modules, assembled starting from seat elements, poufs and corner elements, develop a sofa that breaks the most usual visual patterns and stands out from the contemporary panorama for its calibrated eccentricity. Bend-Sofa is flexible in terms of compositional solutions, it can have linear versions of small dimensions, corner solutions or, in a spectacular version that is not necessarily domestic, it can occupy the space offering double-sided seats, imposing its iconic presence 360 degrees.
